Privacy Policy

CompareClose is a browser-only tool that compares a U.S. Loan Estimate PDF with a Closing Disclosure PDF. It is operated by an individual developer. There is no company and no user accounts.

What we collect

CompareClose does not create accounts and does not ask you to sign in. This site does not collect names, addresses, or loan information from you.

Your PDFs

You may drop a Loan Estimate or Closing Disclosure PDF into the tool. Those files are parsed in your browser with pdf.js. They are never uploaded to a server and never leave your device.

Local storage

If you unlock comparisons of your own PDFs, the browser may store an unlock flag in localStorage on this device. That flag is used only to remember that you already paid. You can clear it by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

Payments

If you buy the one-time unlock, payment is handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not collect or store card numbers. The processor may collect the information it needs to complete the charge. See that processor’s own privacy policy for details.
